Just got my first truck. I thought I’d instantly be the kind of guy who could haul furniture, tow trailers, and maybe even save the day during a traffic jam. Instead, I’ve been using it to drive around and interview people for staffing roles.
I had this grand vision that I’d pull up to the office in my new truck and everyone would think, “Wow, that’s the kind of person who could recruit a team of superheroes.” Instead, my coworkers just think I’m the guy who’ll show up 10 minutes late because I had to park on the other side of the parking lot.
TIL: Apparently, a truck doesn’t help you manage a team; it just makes you the guy with the loud engine and a broken budget.

Ah, yes, the truck. The universal symbol of “I’m now a man of action.” Except… I’m pretty sure your truck just makes you the official driver of lunch runs and the guy who gets asked to move all the heavy furniture at the office. I bought a truck last year too, and now I’m “the guy with the truck,” which basically means I get zero credit for my actual work and only get invited to “help” people move or haul mulch.
You could try adding a “man of action” decal to the back of your truck. Maybe something like “#BossMoves” or “I’m Here to Save the Day” and watch how fast your coworkers start sending you hauling-related emergencies. That should do the trick!
But, honestly, your truck’s main job is probably to give you a reason to never park in a tight spot again.
